Turtle Island Gallery Brian Bob

Brian Bob carries the name "Qwuyutsapool" to honour the Nuu-chah-nulth heritage of his mother Fran Touchie. It is from his mother whom he gains cultural strength. The heritage of his hatrilineal family involved whaling rights on the rugged upen water of the west coast of Vancouver Island, Canada. It is also out of love, respect and honour for his fatehr Wilson Bob, the heritary chief of the Snaw Naw As people that he humbly aspires to a return to traditional teachings.

The wisdom and respect for a circular way of life has been taught in his family and the role of his art is to visually depict the oneness with the creator. The gift that each creature brings into the universe in honoured by his art.The disciplines of Pacific North West Coast art has been passed onto Brian in the the spirit of tradition.Brian wishes to share his gift in the same spirit.
